Alonzo isn’t someone you’ll actually meet — he’s the spirit behind the name. The friend everyone seems to know. Raised on coastal flavours, long family lunches and recipes shared across generations, he represents the warmth and generosity that define true Italian hospitality. Those traditions shape everything we do, from the way we cook to the way we welcome you.

At Ask for Alonzo, we focus on classic Italian dishes rooted in authenticity and simplicity. Our signature Spaghetti Carbonara has become a favourite in Hong Kong, and our menu celebrates timeless flavours designed for sharing — well-made pasta, honest ingredients and wines that bring people together. It’s the kind of Italian restaurant people return to not just for the food, but for the comfort and familiarity that comes with it.

We opened our first 14-seat restaurant in Hong Kong in 2018 with a simple idea: create a neighbourhood trattoria where guests feel at ease. Today, we’re present across key neighbourhoods in Hong Kong — from Soho to Sha Tin — and now proudly welcome guests in Warsaw, Poland at Varso Tower. While our journey began in Hong Kong, our culinary roots remain closely connected to Italy and its enduring food culture.

From busy weekday lunches to unhurried evenings over wine and pasta, the experience is always centred around sharing a table, enjoying straightforward Italian cooking and feeling genuinely looked after from the first “Ciao” to the last sip of wine.
